Gee, more geomorphs (2)

I've started work on a small set of simple sci-fi geomorphs, and had ideas for various general designs too, but with Hogintu occupying me I doubt I'll get much done with them for a while.

So I thought I'd revisit the five I've put up so far - four quarters and a whole - with ideas for using them, whenever inspiration strikes. Thanks to Talysman at The Nine and Thirty Kingdoms I know I have the proportions, right give or take.

This first is also propluristemic content.

The crossover

The minds of the engineers who built these passages were guided by a transcendent power, a line of transpolycosmic creative energy running at a right angle to the plane.

Members of a party crossing the junction may well skip levels, either down or up, in line with their thoughts at that moment; if unusually profound thoughts, the member will skip down, if unusually shallow, up. The DM/GM should ask, without revealing the purpose.

Creativity is likely in the responses so could that mean this part of the concept is real?

If they are up and go up, they will move one level of the complex shallower, and if they are down and go down, one deeper, hopefully never finishing in solid matter or at a great height. More extreme thoughts of one or other kind will see a larger distance travelled.

Other creatures in the passages will do the same, and the rapid movements of the vermin indicate a complex inner life. The astute may notice changes in the walls too.

You take your mortality in your hands in that place.

That's right. Thoughts can be dangerous things of course, especially when used against the thinker and beyond his or her knowledge, as here.

On the subject of health, I hope you being here means you're feeling much better.
