If you haven't heard about the Sea of O'sr, this page expains the concept - adventures for old school roleplaying games based on islands - and has links to entries. I've had something big and weird in mind for a while; weird stays, but maybe downsized.
If anyone's wondering whether a similar project could be set up more for sci-fi, or more event-based, even wargaming scenarios, have a look at Harald's excellent Nightfall. I'd be in for sure.
On the subject of the nautical and new material, ckutalik over at Hill Cantons has a three-part challenge, to create a strange ship, a coastal location and a seafaring faction. It's open to all.
The post title quotes John Masefield of course, "Sea-Fever".

Thanks, Porky. Miss Wiggy sends puppy hugs.
Happy Writing :-)
Oh, that's cool. I stupidly agreed to GM a game of Endland (low-tech post-apocalyptic scenario) and I think I can use this stuff, with some modifications.
@ The Happy Whisk - Thanks, and to you too. Wiggy gets those hugs right back. Is this puppy love?
@ Jedediah - Endland is a cool name. I don't know anything about it, but I found this. Endland is the line of islands bottom right; you can click for a close-up.
Endland has only been published in German and I think it's already out of print again after the 2nd edition. I plan to write about it when I get down to setting up the adventure I want to run (I'm already nervous when I just think about this). The setup is somewhere in that zone where Mad Max, D&D and Stalker (the Tarkovsky movie) meet.
That's something I'd be interested in. I read a post recently in which the author said how sad he felt at not being able to play all the games destined to remain behind language barriers. I feel pretty much the same way. I'd love to read your thoughts on Endland.
Puppy love for sure. Thanks for those links.
Back to the dishes for me ...
