Not much happening here, or ready to show anyway. I will have a work in progress up later, a response to The Drune's request for art for the cool Humanspace Empires. If you don't know much about the game but fancy a go, you can download it here.
It seems fairly quiet around these parts, the gaming blogs I mean. What's up? We're a little sad lately maybe. Since this post, events have moved on, another blogger gone.
I've been reading some old entries at other blogs, filling in gaps in knowledge, seeing if I can't get re-energised. I also remembered I'm supposed to be writing a post for the first Myth-Marked Merchandising, and luckily I'm still looking forward to it.
I've seen there are a couple of contests just announced too, one to create a one-page adventure for the Risus roleplay system and one at Hill Cantons to name the domain game. Risus also pointed out engine of Thwaak, an interesting blog and home to another free rules-light roleplaying system, F/X. Well worth checking out.
One other thing I did was reread some of Abigail Nussbaum's thoughtful look at Star Trek: The Next Generation - index here - and revisit some episodes. One that struck me as a lot of fun is Timescape. I enjoy the stories in which the ship becomes home to something more or less off the wall, and bits and pieces of this episode are intriguing, like the idea of a lifeform from beyond space-time which uses black holes as nests.
What else? There's more playtesting to get on with and lots more graphic bits and pieces to finish, also awaiting inspiration. There's some potentially unusual geomorph experimentation on the desk too which should see the light of day at some point.
That's the Expanse right now anyway. Hang on for the alien pic if you dare...

Timescape was a brilliant episode and has one of my favourite TNG moments ever.
I think they called it temporal narcosis, another of those fun ideas. Also, those armbands were supposed to be generating a close fitting field which allowed them to move freely through the slowdown - a great concept, just wandering around an essentially alien space, a kind of boldly going exploration within. Great stuff.
