Stopped and still going

There's good material coming out of the blogs as ever, but also seemingly endless echoes of the clashes of recent days and months, and the usual friction. We can be rather self-obsessed.

I found a poem that fits just posted over at The Roebuck Poets. The post of the day though is this one at Blue Table Painting. It does put it in perspective. I can't think of a defence either.

The Joesky tax then, inappropriately maybe. It's some propluristemic gaming material to tie in with the theme of hurt. Propluristemic content is hopefully suitable for various systems and settings, with some tweaking here and there.

Do we not bleed?

When a character causes injury of any kind, the character must, once the result has been determined, take a test on a characteristic suitable for willpower. If the test is failed, the character recognises the harm caused and will attempt to end the conflict immediately, leaving the encounter if a peaceful resolution is or proves impossible.

The character may, under pressure, test at every opportunity to overcome this.

If played in a campaign, the character will thereafter attempt to investigate the origins of the conflict, seeking with the knowledge gained to resolve it and prevent it recurring.

That good material includes Doc Grognard at Crawdads and Dragons releasing his Adventurer Book Three, Talysman at The Nine and Thirty Kingdoms offering some rules for medieval tourism and NetherWerks covering Lunar Mansions at Riskail.

At the weekend Fenway5 also put out a couple of releases for the Rogue Space RPG, The Drune told us more about development of Humanspace Empires at ix and Justin S. Davis had a mutant retrospective at A Field Guide to Doomsday, plus some new.

That's not even mentioning the hard work and goodwill over at Heroes of Armageddon.

This is just the obvious stuff of course, and I recommend it all.

Good links as always.

I don't get caught up in the drama. I read some of the stuff but really, I'd rather take pictures of Miss Wiggy, play in the kitchen and hit the bookshop with Poopyhead.

Good info and updates, always believed blood loss should limit your ability to fight after a minute or two as I've seen first hand in my life.

Yep, best to steer clear of the drama.

Re the links, I'm thinking this is more the way to go, rather than one large weekly update. As mentioned at the last, I think the bigger block can be offputting and mean good stuff gets lost. I'll try theming though.

Re blood loss and more extreme physical damage, I agree we can underestimate or gloss over quite how it looks and what it means, and quite likely what it feels like.
