I've always done occasional status reports, but to keep me productive and keep track of what I'm posting, I'll see if I can get into the habit of monthly updates with key posts and comments. This is the first then, for August, bigger things that might have been missed.
- The community project for bridges between settings, with the list so far
- A conversion of Vancian magic and a fighter idea for OD&D-like games
- 100 items and the tripedal Trippies for the rules-light Rogue Space RPG
- A discussion on people in fiction and creating mythology with James S
- A batch of links for the wargame systems Epic and Dropzone Commander
- Encouragement to go freelance and a look at very different art styles
- Progress on Matt's dungeon - a way to develop and maybe get published
- And, re the Expanse, thoughts on rogue AI spam and odd search terms
There's a lot I'd like to get done next month, most obviously a fuller 40K OSR? update, which is long overdue - the last one was back in April. I also have some unusual ideas for gaming without standard randomisers and games designed for a convention format.
Usually I sum it up with a video. If one gets close to that wacky mix, maybe it's this..?

My fav. of the old Dr Who and assistant.
That third season was an especially interesting one. Their earlier stories had a fun vibe too. Like a lot of the original run all three seasons suggested a vast open scope out beyond their actual driven TV narratives, and that came through well in the novelisations too, and the New Adventures.
