Bygones be goners

My entry for Diane Estrella's Microfiction Muse, a weekly writing challenge open to everyone.

As the name suggests, the idea is to create a compact story, specifically 140 characters or less. As ever, I'm counting line breaks one.

The photo this week is of blogger Ashley Sisk.

Early 21st century. Man they had it good!
Light still running from a sky; cars with ground beneath the wheels.
We'd move heaven and earth...

Wow. So evocative! I just can't do the microfiction... My friend teases me incessantly about being verbose, and often challenges me to express my feelings in {x} words or less. I always struggle!

Thanks very much! It hasn't even gone live yet, in the sense it's not been hooked up at the host site, so this is great. I'm glad you like it, but then the inspiration is a good one. You can see parked cars reflected in the shades and there's a slightly furtive feel, and a wistful mood.

And not verbose, expressive, comprehensive..!

Very nice! She certainly does seem to be contemplating life as it once had been.

Very kind! Again, the picture's the star. It's a great inspiration, rich in suggestion, and probably makes a strong impression on all of us.
