Worldboats on the flood

Here's my entry for the Saturday Centus at Jenny Matlock's blog. The challenge is to write a story in 100 words, not including the phrase given, which this week is:

April showers bring May flowers...

I've decided to expand on the Worldboats concept, which was first introduced here by NetherWerks and is based on a comment by C'nor. I added my spin here.

Anyone can contribute to the Worldboat project or write a Saturday Centus entry.

Meanings.

I have followed their world for seasons, their strange vessel arcing on among the stars.

I am a Peripolator.

I say they have come far, and are not as they were; that here in our cosmos many are more, but more are less, and many must exist in another place. Waiting.

That they have seen the seasons of realities beyond our comprehension, in strange outer climes. They change our weather. They passed our world and bestowed gifts and after all these generations we still do not understand.

There is something they fear. How can such beings know fear?

"April showers bring May flowers..."

Meanings.

Great writing ! This reminds me of Stream of Consciousness exercises we did in creative writing and inspires me also to try one again sometime !

Thanks for the positive comments. I hadn't thought of it as stream of consciousness, but there certainly is some of that in there. I do like the added immediacy of the first person, and taking into account the limits of awareness is fun.

Thanks very much! It's great to get such a positive reaction. The inspiration's not all mine of course - the project was set in motion by C'nor and given form by NetherWerks. All the material contributed so far is listed here.
